Part of the fun of a vacation is fuelling up either before or after your adventures, so naturally eating and drinking in the valley should be high on your list of priorities!
When visiting the locale of Canungra, why not spend some time sampling our small, but growing wine industry, where tastings aren’t the only delights you can experience when visiting the local wineries.
Although Canungra Valley is an ideal destination for a day trip, the vineyards themselves, such as O’Reilly’s, have an extensive calendar of events and experiences such as wine appreciation lunches, wine launches and tastings, so it’s definitely worth checking out what’s on when you are going to be in town.
You’ll find O’Reilly’s Canungra Valley Vineyards on Lamington National Park Road, open 7 days a week with a cellar door open daily from 10am – 4pm and local musicians playing on the weekends. At O’Reilly’s you are able to take a walk through the lush vineyard grounds, but also spend time feeding the alpacas, as the Mountview Alpaca Farm is located on the property.
Having the Alpaca Farm on-site with the winery has its advantages for everyone. Popular with both families and couples, once you’ve sampled some wines, there are a few experiences you can enjoy with the alpacas such as feeding, cuddling, and even a picnic! A crowd favourite, the alpacas have been entertaining the locals and tourists who visit for years, with big plans in their future!
Within the region you’ll also find Albert River Wines, which has a cellar door open from 10am – 4pm daily and is also known as a popular wedding venue in the area. Also located in the valley is Sarabah Estate Vineyard, a family-run boutique vineyard and winery located at the base of Lamington National Park, with a cellar door open on weekends.
With many of the wineries in the area hosting some opulent weddings and events for outside visitors, Canungra Hotel offers a transport service to those staying in our accommodation but have functions at some of these locations, and even pick them up at the conclusion of the evening.
